I'm working away at the latest block
in the Mystery Quilt!
This block is actually going to be named
"Friends are like Flowers..."
This is the first block in the quilt that will have no applique on it.
I have also been playing around with layouts for the quilt...
The bolt is lying where this 5th block will be....
the plain fabrics are where pieced blocks will be.
It all could change too!
Ooohhh...laaaa....laaa....
this is getting fun!!
On to another quilting project....
I have always wanted to make a postage stamp quilt...
I pulled fabrics out of the large stash I have from
ends of bolts from the shoppe...
and have been cutting strip after strip
of 1 1/2" lengths...
How do you like my messy floor???
The quilt will have all kinds of pinks, greens and blues in it.
I am planning on making 2 for my twin beds in the guest room...
(Once the kid leaves...)
And another one to take to shows.
It is going to be divine....
to be able to sit and sew at the machine....
after all this hand stitching these last few months...
I know my machine is lonely...
and feeling unloved.
I'll take care of that this week!
Happy Sewing you all....
John'aLee
Love the fabrics. So beautiful and your handwork is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is going to be beautiful! I am going to have to "catch up" with mine now that Christmas is over.
ReplyDeleteThe postage stamp quilt ... I can't wait to see it. I love all the fabrics you have chosen.
And your Christmas Tea from the last post ...I wish I could have attended one of those. Looks like so much fun.

I think I will really like this block from what I can see. Good luck on the postage stamp quilts. Lots of quilts.
ReplyDeleteWow that quilt is going to be gorgeous. Such beautiful fabrics. Can't wait to see it all together! Messy floor looks pretty normal to me! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous design, girl - love the curlicue swirly effect! I remember starting a postage stamp quilt, it was before I had a machine. I had just finished my first quilt that took me 20 years, and was feeling so proud. I cut a cardboard template and started cutting pieces. Put them in a ziploc bag and never saw them again, lol!!!
ReplyDeleteYour floor reminds me of Eleanor Burns - she's always throwing scraps over her shoulder!
Your BOM is looking so nice, and the fabrics you have chosen for your postage stamp quilts are just divine, can't wait until you show us them completed!!
