Nashville Flea Market

I am tickled pink!
My son, his wife, and 3 little ones...
my daughter, her husband and little one...
have all moved here to Nashville!
Oh happy day for Grandma!
On Saturday..
we decided to go and check out the
Nashville Flea Market...
Emily and Kiera checking out tea cups. They are bona fide~love taking tea'ers~with their Grandma!
I had to take pictures of my
sweet daughter in law...
when she saw this old antique
pedal pushing sewing machine.

She wanted it sooooo bad...
She just stood there with her hands on her face...
for several minutes...

It was in mint condition...
and the guy only wanted $100 bucks for it.

But seeing they just moved here...
and the budget was tight...
she sadly walked away.

On Grandma's Front Porch
The girls found Grandma's hat drawer before we left...

These are the things keeping me smile...even though it's been sad days around here...

Last night Miss Em
 and I...
started organizing all the blocks that are coming in.

We are making a scrapbook for Tory to go along with the quilts.
I am putting in all the letters, notes and cards  you all have sent...
and Emily helped me cut out return address labels,
as well as post marks...

We are headed to Wal-Mart today to pick up pictures
of all the individual blocks...
Chris (our lost soldier boy) gave me a scrapbook in July for my birthday...
he himself picked out.

So I felt it  appropriate to use it for this project.
We will scrapbook the pictures with  corresponding letters, notes...cards.
Emily sorting blocks after I took pictures of them with their appropriate address label.

It's been quite a job keeping everything straight.

But in the end...
I think it is going to add a whole lot more...
to
our
"Lost Soldier Boy Quilt Project"

Tonight we are going to start sewing blocks together!

So I will keep you all posted!

  2. Lucky you to have family follow you and stay close!! What fun to have the grandchildren around. I ache for your DIL--not getting that machine. I would have been so tempted to buy it for an early Christmas, birthday, Mother's Day--whatever--combined, but don't know that I would have had the money, either.
You are really going the extra mile with this project. What a treasure, and how appropriate to use the scrapbook Chris bought you. Tugs at my heart!

  5. I just read about your project over at Janet o's blog. I don't know how I missed it until now. I have sent off a few blocks in the morning mail. They are just simple stars but I hope you can use them.

  7. Wow aren't you blessed - what adorable children! So good to have family close. I'm so sorry she couldn't get that sewing machine, that was a steal at that price! I think documenting everything for the quilts is a wonderful idea, sweetheart, may the Lord give strength to your hands and heart as you work on these!
