Ken and I have been thoroughly enjoying
stopping in at flea markets
as we travel through the states.
I am always on the look out
for fine bone china!
Fell in love with these doilies too....
I even didn't mind washing up all of these
great pieces once I got home.
Homemade Oatmeal Brown Bread from Scratch |
Absolutely divine with my homemade Strawberry Jam
We've been finding local Farmer's Markets too...
for produce that is organic and local...
Just look at those pumpkins!
My Guitar Man was in hog heaven...
seeing there was a great band playing...
We also had some fresh ginger lemonade
and lavender lemonade...
and right before we left...
wheat grass juice.
Okay...that wasn't very tasty...
but oh the energy lift!
Reminded me of my trip to
the
Optimum Health Institute
with my dear friend Nancy!
We would have to go down twice a day
to the Wheat Grass Room
and juice our own grass.
By the final day,
I couldn't stand the smell of it anymore
and had to have Nancy do it for me.
What are good friends for anyway???
(Love you Nanc!)
Trying to get back to normal...
trying to get through a day without crying.
I was doing really good a few days ago...
and then a military jet flew over the house,
and the tears just started rolling down my cheeks.
Tory is coming home tomorrow to pick up all Chris' stuff,
we stored for him right before he deployed.
I am working on laying out all of the blocks you ladies
have sent in,
so she can see them right when she walks in.
I know it will make her smile and feel very loved!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Big Hugs,

John'aLee, Your china pieces are so beautiful and like others said, I can smell the bread from here. Dang it, I'm on my last bottle of home made strawberry jam. It is sooo much better than anything you can buy AND...we put much less sugar in it because our strawberries were so wonderfully sweet. We didn't want to override the natural flavor.
ReplyDeleteWell, about getting through the day without crying, you would have a really tough time at my house. We live about two miles from an Air Force Base and we outside, or our windows are open in the Spring and Fall, every night at 9 pm sharp, we hear the of playing Taps over the Base speakers for the military personnel. Hubby and I always stop whatever we are doing and just listen. I ALWAYS have tears rolling by the time it is over. It is so beautiful and serves to remind me of the cost of our Freedom. Hugs and Prayers coming your way along with the blocks I to you this morning.
Your finds are beautiful! Love them all! I can almost smell the wonderful scent of your Oatmeal Brown Bread. There is nothing better than homemade bread!
ReplyDeleteJohn'aLee, it is OK to cry. You and your family have so recently gone through a very difficult situation and it will take a lot of time to heal. Keep your faith through the ups and downs.
I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Ooh I love your china and the doilies too, so pretty. Reene is absolutely right I do think pink rules. :) You are an amazing, loving and brave example to us all. Thinking of you. Xxx
