ReplyDeleteOnly the top 5? Well, how about these:
ReplyDeleteGod
Family, especially a sweet husband
Air conditioning (it's 104 degrees outside)
Enough money to pay my bills
A soft bed to sleep in at night
Great list, John'aLee, I truly believe that a thankful heart is the best way to have a good outlook on life. We should teach our children to be grateful, too, and have satisfaction in what we have, instead of what we want. Thank you for the happy list!

What a great list John'aLee! My top five would be - God, my sweet hubby, and my three precious children. I do have a very best friend too, for which I am very thankful. We quilt together, and laugh and eat....... even though we live 1,000 miles apart. That's the kind of friend who is a blessing. Thanks for the uplifting post.
ReplyDeleteJohn'aLee, What a sweet post! I have been having a bad couple of weeks :( It was very uplifting to see your post. I am going to make my own list in a journal.
ReplyDeleteThank you for being such a sweet lady and such an inspiration.
Hugs,
Donna
Oh goodness I wish Montana and Tennessee weren't so many miles apart!! Adore your list and thank you for sharing the heartfelt smiles! Bless you :)
ReplyDeleteTop 5 - Family, listening to birds chirping in the morning, ATV riding, a glorious sunset, my fur baby welcoming me home :-)
ReplyDeleteI actually do this a lot - I try to cultivate an attitude of thankfulness, and teach my boys to as well. It sure cuts down on the complaining, lol!
ReplyDeleteLet's see: Jesus....my family.....my home...my BED, cuz it heals my back....friends...better stop now!
AND! count this in:
ReplyDeletereading quilty blogs and their comments! 8^}}

Thank you for this truly inspirational post, sweetie!!! I have been receiving your posts via email, and it really gave me a lift this afternoon to have this message pop up on my Ipod! I was busting with excitement thinking about all the things that make me happy! Actually - come to think of it - you are one of them!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs sweetness!

ReplyDeleteLove,
Mary Lou
I love your list. We are all so blessed and it does help to take time to count your blessings. They are many!
ReplyDeleteHi John'aLee! How interesting that you blogged about this today...I was just thinking of this very same subject yesterday as I was sewing! I made my own mental list as I was working, and it was quite long, but my top five would have to be:
ReplyDelete1. God and our Saviour, Jesus Christ
2. My husband
3. My family (including my hubby's family!)
4. My BFF - which happens to be my sister
5. My fur children
Thanks for such an uplifting and inspiring post. I think we all need to take some time each day and be mindful of all the blessings we have!
XOXO,
Cyndi
You have lots of things on your list that I am thankful for too! Taking time to write them down is such a good exercise, because it's so easy to take things for granted. I read a wonderful book called One THousand Gifts. It's all about doing that exact thing. Ann at Holy Experience blog wrote the book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving a comment today.
That list is a great idea...perhaps I need an on going one!
ReplyDeleteHwy girl! Great idea... I'll start one too!
ReplyDeleteHere's my top five...
Gods blessings!
hubs,kids,mom's,home/cottage dog and chickens and my garden!
Deb
I don't know why but it's all too easy to complain about our 'lot' rather than taking a few moments to be thankful and remember the things we love. Thank you for reminding us. A lot of the things on your list would also be on mine with the addition of singing.
ReplyDeleteTerea x
