These are the yummy fabrics I went and pulled
from my fabric wholesaler yesterday....
This is what is getting played with...
(Parisian Summer)
I play and play....
I've made 4 different checkerboard combinations so far....
designing isn't for the faint of heart my friends...It can get very frustrating...
Still ain't working...
Ummmm....
still need to try some other fabs...
And as the day goes on....
the studio gets messier....
And messier....
Time to take a break and go work on my new files...
Have a sweet day everyone....
I'll be picking the winner for the Transfer Eze on Monday!
It looks like fun play though!!!! Gorgeous spring colors!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe my comment went through. I tried to comment on Wednesday's post again, but it still won't go through. I loved the idea for the embroidery design marking.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever tried designing on the computer? EQ7 might help keep your studio from erupting in scrap blocks.
ReplyDeleteThese fabrics are scrumptious! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear from you again. Those beautiful fabrics would be fun to play with, but the pressure of "designing" would be a whole different story to me. : )
ReplyDeleteI love pink! Those fabrics look fab and I'm sure will make a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet fabrics!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Needled Mom...it may be work, but it looks like fun! And I know you'll come up with just the right combination, John'aLee. Everything you do is gorgeous! :o)
ReplyDeleteSometimes one has to work under mess. Just how it goes. Only I do clean up before a new project or I go crazy.
ReplyDeleteWow- what a beautiful blog you have. Your fabrics are just gorgeous--- and your quilts are simply stunning. I'm totally blown away by your crafts--
ReplyDeleteI read that you used to live by Bryce Canyon-- we traveled there last year and thought that it was incredible. The link to our trip photos are on my sidebar-- but then I'm sure you've traveled there a million times. I'd love to see it covered with snow--

Beautiful fabric you have to play with! I don't think I'd have the patience. Cooking is my favorite creative outlet :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to meet you. This all looks DELICIOUS as a summer day.

I am doing this quilt along with you :)
ReplyDeleteI love the pink/white/ and green/white checkerboards....might you include a turquoise/spa blue white checkerboard as well? (I love that color in the blocks, the flower cart in Parisian).
The checkerboards look so "crisp", really frame the work. The more muted checkerboards( pink/green) are pretty too, kind of blend quietly.
Whatever you decide, I know you will come up with a beautiful design as always. I appreciate your hard work!
Hugs all around.

I could never make the choices when designing a quilt like this beauty! I can't wait to have mine done! It is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Donna
I love to see the way designers put their thoughts together. It's great to see the deign process in the making. Thanks for sharing it with us. :)
