Happy Monday Guys and Gals!
It's that time again:
So this is my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Have any of you ever broken your sister's leg before?
I have!
And the amazing thing, I didn't even feel bad!
Ah.....you all think I'm this sweet lil gal....
Time for confession...
Last week I told you about laying irrigation pipe out in the fields with the cowboys.
This week I'm going to tell you why those hunk'a'boys always wanted me
driving the tractor....
not my sister Janet.
I'd like to say it was because they just thought I was this raving beauty. But again...I promised to tell the truth.
Picture this:
Janet.
Pillows on the tractor seat.
An unbrella.
Nancy Drew books...
gallon of iced tea.
That's how she drove the tractor.
And did she go in a straight line for the boys....
heck no. We would watch her from up on the hill out the kitchen window.
Swervin' way out not having a care in the world,
her eyes only glued to the latest mystery Nancy Drew had concocted up.
So on this certain day it was her turn to drive in the fields.
But she was nowhere to be found. So yep. Yer right!
Me!
Well hours later, we are on the second to the the last row of pipe,
and here she comes dancing out all full of glee.
I was driving an old side step pick-up this day,
the tractor was in use elsewhere, and she says to me, "John'aLee get out. I'm driving!"
"No way sista! You're dreamin'! You have to take my day tomorrow! We're almost finished here."
More sassiness....
And then she sits down on the side step over the truck wheel,
in her cowboy boots pouting while I continued to drive.
That is until a crabgrass hooked her cowboy boot and down she went.
Bump.
Hmmm...that's weird....
Whoops!
You know what I said to her?
"Serves you right!!"
But the joke was on me gals.
Her leg was broken, she was put in a cast....
and guess who had to drive tractor the rest of the summer!!!
Funny thing...
I never felt repentful! So sorry to burst your bubble.
Okay I know....that sweet lil John'aLee
so quiet and reserved....
shy...
Hmmm...
Okay enough you know what!
On to the block!
It's an easy one!!!!!!
